This traditional Robert Burns poem has been set to music by folk artists and has long been sung at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Nowadays, the first verse and chorus is usually sung, sometimes a couple of times, and then the chorus is repeated getting increasingly faster with each repeat – so don’t start too fast! More traditional renditions in the folk world may include further verses.
